Wi (prounced like wii the gaming system) lived in the slums and was a fruit seller. One day she met a pastor. He asked her, “Do you know how to sew bags?” “No.” “Would you like to learn?” Wi was married but her husband left her and she was barely getting by. She knew how to sew but she didn’t know how to may a bag. “Yes, I would like to learn.”
They taught her to make a bag. She tried. She gave them her 1st bag. They handed it back to her and said, “This is not right.” So, she tried again. The next day she gave them the bag again. They handed it back to her and said, “This is not right.” She said, “I left and was so sad. I tried, but it was not good enough. But I will not give up.” She brought the bag back the next day. This time they said, “It is good.” As she was telling me the story, her face lit up and she started clapping. She was reliving that moment! She was Napada’s 1st employee and today she is one of their head trainers.
After telling me this, she wanted to share her testimony. She said “I never knew the name of Jesus until I started working at Napada.” I asked her what made her accept Jesus. She said, “He brought me great happiness and He has forgiven my sins. I am thankful that God has brought Napada in my life. They encourage me and we get to grow together.”
