48 Hours Changed My Perspective

48 Hours Changed My Perspective

48 hours last week changed my perspective. How can a phone call change you? I was faced with a health scare. “Marisa, we need to see you as soon as possible to run more scans. There was an abnormality that has us concerned. Can you come in on Thursday?” I hung the phone up in a daze. How could I tell my family? How could I run The Marketplace if I was sick? What was my plan of action? I spoke to my husband and contacted all my prayer partners and asked them to pray. I could lie and tell you I had instant peace, but I won’t. I was creating contingency plans in my head. The only peace I had was that God would be with me, along with my family and friends. That was the longest 48 hours I could remember! What happened during those 48 hours? I was given a clean bill of health.  I had gratitude for my husband and pray partners who rallied around me. I also had a perspective change. Life as usual is not a guarantee, it’s a gift and we need to make the most of it. Quit focusing on the ankle biters, they won’t matter in the end. It also renewed my commitment to our prayer wall. I know some people don’t have close prayer partners and don’t know where to turn when they are facing a storm. In the past, we used to post our prayer wall on social media and have our community pray over the names. While I have continued to pray over the names I hate to say I have not posted the wall in months. I am reestablishing my commitment to this. If you would like prayer for you, a friend, or family member, message us, call us, email us, or walk into the store. We would love the opportunity to pray with you or have our Marketplace community pray for you. When you face a storm, you should never have to do it alone.
