5 Easy Ways to Create the Perfect Summer Porch
Oh, glory days! The weather is warmer, the sun is shining, and the birds are chirping, it’s time to get that front porch ready for some outdoor living! The beauty of a front porch summer makeover is that by adding a pop of color and some different textures, you can instantly go from blah to WOW! I am a firm believer in working with what you already have and just making a few small tweaks. Here are my top 5 recommendations to “summerize” your porch.
Tips to Create the Perfect Summer Porch
Front Door- Adding a pop of color here gives your home so much curb appeal. I grabbed my fair trade Banana Twine Tote, filled it with silk tulips, and used my Christmas wreath holder to hang it. Every time I drive up to my house, I can’t help but smile. Want to change it up from Spring to Summer? Just go from tulips to sunflowers!
Planters- Nothing changes the feel of a porch more than beautiful planters. As you put new flowers in for the season, be sure to add a pop of color. We have beautiful handmade recycled steel drum garden stakes to add a bit of interest to you planters. Hand cut, hand hammered, and hand painted, these garden stakes can be enjoyed for years to come!
Seating- I am all about mixing textures. I like to keep my seating and rug neutral so I can constantly change it up just by adding new pillows. Whether I go with bright recycled sari or handblocked woven ones, just by changing them out I change the entire feel of the whole porch.
Sound- What sounds better than listening to the birds chirping? Adding wind chimes. The gentle sound of bells is so soothing. Imagine enjoying a morning cup of coffee, listening to the birds, and hearing the gentle chimes. We have beautiful wind chimes from India in various shapes and sizes, perfect for any porch.
Hanging element- You have created a cozy seating area but feel the space above is a bit boring. We have the perfect element, a macrame plant holder. I love that it adds another textural feel. Put a plant that dangles in it, your space is now complete!
