How Strong is Your Faith
Challenges, we all have them. But what I find interesting is how we each handle them. Some people retreat, while others step into it. I think it’s determined by the size of your faith. Many people have asked me how I quit my job after 11 years to pursue The Marketplace. I often look at the person and say, “Did I really have a choice? God said ‘Go!’” He didn’t say whenever you FEEL comfortable and confident it will work, then go. Go meant go! Was I scared? Absolutely. I was leaving a stable job, we had 1 child in college, and another about to go in a couple of years. Did I have it all mapped out? Nope. But Lou and I believed God said it. So I did it! I am not gonna make this sound romantic and say it was a breeze. It was hard. There were many nights I would wake up in a cold sweat at 1 am, grab my Bible and journal, and head to my office. I would read scripture, look through my journal, and focus on what God said. If He said it, He would do it. I just had to do my part.
I trust God more than I will ever trust man. Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever. He doesn’t change his mind based on what is trending on social media. Can you say that about people? Many people’s word today mean nothing and they go based on feelings and emotions. Faith can never be about feelings and emotions. It’s about trust. It’s knowing the character of God AND experiencing Him. This truly determines how strong your faith is and who determines your next steps.
