It all started in Davidson
It all started at Christmas in Davidson in 2010. Armed with 3 tables, 2 suitcases of product, and 3 friends- we set up to sell products from Jacaranda Creations, a ministry in Nairobi Kenya that empowered women with jobs. Did we know what we were doing? Heck no! Did people love it anyways? Your darn right they did! That truly was the beginning of The Marketplace vision. We came back year after year, a little bit better than the year before and people continued to support. We have been rained, sleeted, and snowed on. We have braved 20 degree weather. 8 years and a Rolling Shack later, you can still find us on the town green. Why do we keep coming back? Because our supporters keep looking for us! This is our hometown crowd. They believed in us before we kinda figured out how to do this. THIS is my FAVORITE show of the year. If you have not been to Christmas in Davidson you are missing out! It’s a beautiful way to usher in the Christmas Season. Slow down, ride the horse and carriage, shop some awesome local artisans, listen to the little kids singing, and take a moment to enjoy the people you are with! When is it? Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 6-9. Stop by the Shack, tell us how long you have shopped us, your favorite Marketplace story, and you just might get a little surprise from me.
