Oh the Overwhelming, Never-ending Reckless Love of God

“Bing!” We have an online order. I pull it up and I just stare at it. No, it’s not possible. I email the customer asking if I could speak to her. Our store phone rings. I answer it. “You wanted to speak to me?” I thank her for the order. “You probably don’t remember me. I came in the store a couple of years ago and you shared your heart for The Marketplace with me. I was thinking about opening a store. I never did but I never forgot The Marketplace. God recently blessed me and my husband and I knew what I wanted to do.” I thanked her, hung up the phone, and sat on the stool and cried. You see she donated $8,880. She rescued 2 women from trafficking in Bangkok Thailand.

I sent Kay the Director of Samaritan Creations a message to call me, I had big news. It’s an 11-hour time difference so I had to wait with this news. At 7:30 pm my time, she messaged me, “I am up. Do you want to talk now?” We decided to video this call because I wanted you all to see her reaction when she received the news. Please watch this video.

Days later I reflected on the call and mapped out the timeline of the events. Kay and her husband prayed a heartfelt prayer that night and went to bed. God spoke to our customer and she made the donation. I recently heard a song that captured this beautifully.

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God. It chases me down, fights til I am found, leaves the 99. I couldn’t earn it. I don’t deserve it. Still you give yourself away. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God.

Whether you are a dancer in the red-light district in Bangkok Thailand, a prostitute in El Alto Bolivia, or woman being trafficked in Kathmandu Nepal, God sees her, loves her, and recklessly chases after her. His love is overwhelming and never-ending and I am humbled that He chooses to continue to perform miracles in The Marketplace. Since January 1st, The Marketplace community has rescued 3 women from trafficking and we are over half way to our fourth. I want to thank each and every one of you who have donated to our One Woman Campaign. The beautiful part is we are not done yet!!
