Please give this $20 to the widowed and orphaned

“My daughter has collected money to give to the widowed and orphaned and we were wondering if we could give this to you for you to give to someone?” She handed me $20. I looked at the little girl, she must have been about 8 years old. She was so shy but she wanted to make sure that others were taken care of. I told her I would and I would ask God to show me who to give it to. After our final pop up in Virginia, we headed home. When we got there, I had 3 large boxes waiting for me. I opened each one and one of them had a card on the top. I picked it up and it slipped from my hands. When I went to reach for it, I saw orphan prevention on the front. I flipped it around and read, “We know you have a world full of choices. Thank you for selecting us.” I knew right then and there who was getting this young girl’s offering, Papillon. I took a pic and sent it to the Pastor to give to this young girl. I wanted her to know that her $20 gift was going to a special place and that it mattered. As a mom, I applaud her mom. It’s our job as parents to teach our children to think outside of themselves and their wants. I am sure this little girl could have used her money for something she wanted but instead she chose to give it to someone who needed it more.

Doing a 3 day pop up out of town is tough, it’s exhausting and demanding. But what a great way to end it focusing on a little girl who wanted to help others.
