Remember we all live in glass houses

Remember we all live in glass houses

If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. John 8:7

I remember being a 21 year old fresh out of college at my 1st job. The manager welcomed me and said, “If you learn nothing from me, learn this. We all live in glass houses.” I remember looking at him and thinking what?!? That was probably one of the most profound lessons I learned.

So I am gonna give you the MIV of this scripture. MIV? The Marisa International Version. There was this woman caught in sin. No one is questioning that. Jesus starts drawing in the sand. Uh oh, they are about to get schooled. He says if you have not sinned, throw that stone. He continues drawing.  I am thinking you better think twice about throwing that stone. Why? Because we have all sinned, each one of us.

When you throw that stone from your glass house, be prepared for stones to come flying back at you. We must remember we have all sinned. Jesus has forgiven and hopefully we won’t commit that sin again. We are not the judge, He is. If you have right relationship with Him, He will search your heart and convict. What you can hide from the world, you can’t hide from Him.  My recommendation? Don’t throw that stone, you have enough work just keeping yourself right before the Lord.
