Shop Local and Shop Small

Shop Local and Shop Small

I am very passionate about shop local and shop small. As we take The Rolling Shack out, we meet fellow local vendors. These guys have a huge heart for what they do and for their community! I love listening to their “why.” It’s not easy doing shows, I can speak from experience. We did shows in tents for years before the Shack. You are in the elements; hot, cold, rain, sleet, and snow. But we do it because we are passionate about what we do! Many people asked why we closed the Oak Street. It was the next phase to The Marketplace but I will be honest it was an easier decision to make because as our online and truck shows increased while our store sales became stagnant. If we don’t support local, there will come a day when we won’t be able to shop local. That will be a sad day. Local vendors bring so much life to our communities. I have to say some of my closest friends started out as customers and developed into a special part of my life.

As we head into the Christmas season, please consider only purchasing from small businesses. Support the local businesses who are part of your community, the heart of your community. Come out for Small Business Saturday in Southend. With over 200+ vendors you can knock out your Christmas list and have so much fun doing it! We hope to see you there!
