Woman #3

Woman #3

A single mother to 2 young daughters, 4 and 5 years old, our third woman that we rescued from trafficking in the One Woman Campaign desperately wanted to leave the bar life. She did once and stayed with Samaritan Creations for 4 months. Then she went back. Why? The family pressure to send money home was too intense. She not only has to support her 2 daughters but also her parents and her brothers. Kay the Director of Samaritan Creations didn’t give up on her. She kept visiting her in the bars. She wanted to keep the lines of communication open and continue sharing the love of Christ with her. Eventually she made the decision to leave not only for her sake but for her daughters. I know many people will never understand how a woman can sell her body night after night. Thank God you have never felt that kind of desperation. I have looked into the eyes of many woman who have felt that hopelessness. “If I don’t do this, my children won’t eat.” “I have to do this so my kids have a place to sleep.” For me, when I look into her eyes, I see a woman with no options. I don’t judge her, my heart breaks for her. THEN I get angry. We live in a broken world where sin runs rampant. We can choose to look the other way or we can offer her a solution, a better life where she has dignity and can provide for her children. Thank you to all who have chosen to be a part of the solution and joined us on the One Woman Campaign. We couldn’t do it without you guys!
