Caturra Coffee by San Lazaro from Honduras

$15.00

Caturra is an Arabica hybrid that does really well in the high altitudes of La Botija Mountians. It has chocolate notes with a smooth citrus accent. What is interesting to note is that these beans are using a classic fermented wash process. The outer fruit is washed off before it is dried. This gives it a crisp and mild sweet flavor. This is a medium roast coffee and is available in both ground and whole bean.

12 ounces

San Lazaro Farm was established in 2006 in La Botija Mountain. This is a very unique coffee farm in that it is led and run by women. Before this farm was established, women would pick coffee and only be paid a fraction of what the men were paid. San Lazaro offers employment to over 20 women so they are able to provide for their children. Because they are committed to the people behind the coffee bean, they pay the ladies above established fair wages, nearly double! The coffee is delicious because it is grown in high altitudes and in rich volcanic soil with just the right amount of shade and sun. But what I really love about this ministry is that not only do they give the ladies dignified employment but also spiritual development through devotions and Bible study. This is an elevated coffee experience that's cultivated with dignity.

Empowering people. Changing lives.
