Small Woven Round Bowl by The Mighty River Project from Uganda

$15.00

This is the 1st time we have been able to get these little guys! The colors are phenomenal! You are going to have a hard time choosing just one! In Uganda, there is a water shortage so how they make these little baskets is quite clever! They take one pot of water, use the lightest dye, dye their banana fiber, hang it to dry, and then make the water a bit darker and start the process over again until everything is dyed! In the end, they only use one pot of water! The level of artistry in weaving the baskets into such intricate patterns is amazing. Start with one or create and entire wall of baskets!

Dimension: 7 inches

The Mighty River Project partners with Ugandan artisans as they use their craft skills to support their families. Each woman in the program receives mentoring, school sponsorship for their children, access to a family medical plan, and any necessary emergency assistance. As they partner with Ugandan women, their standard of living goes up and the likelihood that their children will ever enter institutional care goes down.

Empowering people. Changing lives.
