Eco Dyed Pouch by Himalayan Tapestry from India

$14.00

I first saw this process in India in 2014 and was fascinated. I wanted to find a way to introduce the traditions of natural dyeing to The Marketplace. Eco dyeing is a slow process of creating rich and unexpected colors from plants by boiling them in a metal pot. The leaves are then layered on cotton to create a unique pattern in incredible colors. This is truly an art form. These pouches celebrate an age old tradition and allow us to experience this art today in a new way. Be prepared to fall in love. This would make a beautiful gift.

Dimensions: 7.5 x 5 inches

Himalayan Tapestry is a ministry from Rajpur India that works with women in challenging situations. They empower women by investing in them and teaching them a trade. I recently had an opportunity to visit their workshop and meet the ladies. I saw first-hand how they dye fabrics and create beautiful shirts and skirts. Himalayan Tapestry also empowers women by running a local coffee house and bakery that overlooks the beautiful Himalayan Mountains. They teach them how to be a barista, a baker, and run a sustainable business. We are so excited to partner with them.

Empowering people. Changing lives.
