I had the opportunity to go to Muhanga and have the wood carvers teach me their trade and they taught me to make a wooden spoon. I am not gonna lie, it was not easy and it was required many hours. When I saw the pie server, I knew I had to have it for The Marketplace. How do they create this? The 1st step is to take a large piece of musave wood and cut the length with a machete. The really interesting thing about Musave is that it quickly grows back! It's a regenerating raw material. Then they start carving the shape. Once that is done, it is then meticulously carved by hand. The final step is to dip it in beeswax to preserve the beauty of the wood. This would be a great addition to your home collection and an awesome gift!

Cleaning recommendations: wash by hand in warm water and dish soap. Not recommended for the dishwasher.
