Kantha Basket by Asha Project from India

$14.00

Can you ever have enough baskets? The answer is always no, especially when they are so unique. The ladies take a sari and pair it with canvas to give it body. They then stitch it together. Notice the white stitching? It's called kantha stitch and it's all done by hand! So many fun ways to add a pop of color to a room! Put a plant baby in it, organize your bath products, or even use it to hold your mail. The uses are endless. It would also make a great basket for a gift bundle! Each basket provides 4 women with 4 hours of work.

Dimensions: 4.5 x 5.5 inches

Asha Project was created with a vision to empower women in India to help break the cycle of poverty that has a hold on their families and communities. It is led by women who themselves started out as a member. Asha Project not only wants to teach women how to be empowered, but also how to empower other women.

Empowering people. Changing lives.
