Medium Woven Bowls by The Mighty River Project from Uganda

$28.00

This is the 1st time we have offered this size. Many of you wanted to create a basket wall and your space was not large. The Medium Bowls will be perfect for spaces that are not too large or too small! Throw in some small ones with it and you will have an incredible wall!

Are you guys a little intimated to put up a basket wall? Don't be! Here is our Basket Wall in under 3 Minute Tutorial. Check it out!

In Uganda, there is a water shortage so how they make the baskets is quite clever! They take one pot of water, use the lightest dye, dye their banana fiber, hang it to dry, and then make the water a bit darker and start the process over again until everything is dyed! In the end, they only use one pot of water! The level of artistry in weaving the baskets into such intricate patterns is amazing.

Dimension: 12 inches

The Mighty River Project partners with Ugandan artisans as they use their craft skills to support their families. Each woman in the program receives mentoring, school sponsorship for their children, access to a family medical plan, and any necessary emergency assistance. As they partner with Ugandan women, their standard of living goes up and the likelihood that their children will ever enter institutional care goes down.

Empowering people. Changing lives.
