Recycled Sari Knitted Pumpkins by White Peacock from India

$16.00

Looking for the perfect Fall decor that is unique? Look no further. We have elevated our pumpkin game! Handknitted out of recycled sari, I can tell you, I haven't seen anything like this anywhere!

Made by Radha, it takes 5 hours to make 1! She cuts the sari fabric, winds it into a ball, knits the pumpkin, stuffs it with cotton, and then knits the stem. She can make 4 pumpkins out of each sari and she can make 4 a week.

We have them available in 2 sizes; small and large.

All I can say is these pumpkins are adorable and are sure to sell out!

Dimensions: Small 3-4 inches. Large 5-6 inches.

Founded in 2008, The White Peacock (TWP) was created to equip and empower a community of local slum-dwelling women. Many of these women had young kids whom they were forced to leave for long hours during the day so they could work in the fields. What TWP quickly realized was that these women could weave, sew, stitch, and crochet. They took this creativity and gave them an outlet. These women are less of employees and more of entrepreneurs. Now the women can work at home and take care of their children while having dignified employment.

Empowering people. Changing lives.
