Dunamis was founded by a married couple, Boris and Fernanda. Experiencing abandonment as a young child, Boris also experienced hope through a missionary who took him in at the age of 13. He then grew and married Fernanda and together they both felt the call of God to mentor and minister to young girls who have suffered abandonment, abuse and trafficking. They seek to restore the dignity and worth these girls have through being daughters of Christ. They share the gospel as well as teach the girls the skill of jewelry making. The tagua nut that is used to make the jewelry is not a pretty nut at first. The tagua nut requires refining and polishing, and is made into something beautiful. Dunamis feels the same way about these young women; turning something that has been cast aside, refining it and giving it a new purpose and worth.
