Small Leather Journal by Akiru Project from Uganda

$30.00

These little guys are back! These rustic journals are made with great skill. The paper is 100% handmade using traditional methods that have been passed down from generations in Uganda.  The leather is cow-hide that has been naturally tanned and minimally processed, giving it a very soft and natural feel. It wraps to close. It’s the perfect size the grab and go! Due to the rustic nature of the leather, there are slight variations and marks in the leather. It truly makes up the beauty and one of a kind of each journal

dimension: 6 x 4 inches

The Akiru Project is a small business initiative that offers meaningful employment for vulnerable, impoverished women of Karamoja, Uganda.  By providing these women with marketable skills and a living wage, Akiru gives them the hope of a hunger free future.  Akiru means rain, which promises provisions for the future and produces hope for sustained life.

Empowering people.  Changing lives.
