The leather is cow-hide that has been naturally tanned and minimally processed, giving it a very soft and natural feel. It wraps to close. It’s the perfect size the grab and go! Due to the rustic nature of the leather, there are slight variations and marks in the leather. It truly makes up the beauty and one of a kind of each journal

In the Karamoja region of Uganda, akiru means rain. Chronic drought and changing weather patterns create tremendous hardships for the people including wide-spread hunger, malnutrition, and extreme proverty. The Akiru Project is a small business initiative that offers meaningful employment for vulnerable, impoverished women of Karamoja, Uganda. By providing these women with marketable skills and a living wage, Akiru gives them the hope of a hunger free future.
